Yes, that’s right, I now have a Patreon page. Check it out! I’ll be honest: I don’t really have a plan, and I don’t quite know what I’m doing. But hey… sometimes you just gotta go for it! As I’ve mentioned, for the next six months or so, University will be my main priority and writing will get less time allocated to it than usual which means I won’t have a “big project” for the next while. Patreon is, in part, a way for me to still have a “big writing thing” ongoing, without needing to devote as much time as trying to finish a new book would take.
Apart from launching my Patreon, I’ve also submitted a short story to a magazine for the first time ever (not counting a short story contest I entered at 13). Very exciting, and a bit scary! If you have any tips for venues accepting short fiction that I could submit to if it gets rejected from this place, let me know in the comments below.
Tomorrow I go back to the day job, and my spring term will officially start. That means that this is the week I get back into some habits (like my usual Twice Fortnightly format), and form some new ones (like how I’ll organize my writing and studying time). So during this week I want to:
- Post a Flash Fiction Friday and, maybe, a Worldbuilding Wednesday post.
- Start drafting a short for my Patreon.
- Draft a review for Hubpages.
- Finally update the eBook version of Going Home, which I’ve been meaning to do for ages now.
We’ll start like that and see how it goes! And with that, I need to hit the hay!
Cool! I had not heard of Patreon before. Will check it out 🙂
Awesome! Always nice of you to drop by 🙂
