I was planning to make this a double post, ThinkKit prompt #24 and #25. #25 was to share a photo of a tradition from the past year. I was planning to take a photo of our Christmas Day board game session earlier today but I totally forgot, so I’ll have to stick to #24, which is to talk about what one is thankful for.
I’m thankful for a lot of things. I’m thankful that I live in a place that is safe and, often, beautiful. I’m thankful for the sunny days and the snowy ones, even the stormy fall days so long as I keep my feet dry. I’m thankful for my day job, for how it’s allowing me to, albeit barely at the moment, keep from having to move back in with my parents.
I’m thankful for the people who love me, and for the people who listen to me, and particularly for those who do both. I’m thankful for the fact that my boyfriend cooks, and puts the kettle on when I come home from work grumpy.
I’m thankful for my ability to write, for the freedom and enjoyment it gives me. I’m thankful that Going Home is finally finished, and thankful to the 6 (I believe) people who have bought it so far. I’m thankful for all the ideas that aren’t books yet. I’m thankful for other peoples’ books.
I’m thankful for chocolate, for popcorn and tea. I’m thankful for Netflix, particularly shows with monsters in them. I’m thankful for veggies and dip, and Game of Thrones. I’m thankful for sushi and pizza and fries. I’m thankful for food on a general way, really.
And, honestly, I’m thankful to you. Because you’re reading this. I appreciate it, I really do.
